Here’s a selection of favourite images from Jenni and Chris’ session I photographed recently. This is also a warm up for their wedding taking place later this month in Islington

We decided to use St Pancras station for the main part. And how it has improved since I was last there ! Its perfect for photography as well with not only lots of space but great light as well. Also note the huge Olympic logo which will greet the many visitors next year.

Later on we headed towards Camden Market and alongside the canal which is another great place for photography. With so much going on, you’re spoilt for choice.

Below are some more favourites.

Here’s another set from one of my popular engagement sessions which I offer to all my wedding couples.

I’ll be doing Jennifer and Nick’s wedding photography at Wokefield Park in June this year. Not long to go now !

As you can see they were complete naturals in front of the camera and I didn’t really have to direct them. So this bodes well for their big day. And because of the decent weather we managed to pop outside for a few shots in the adjoining alleyway. I’d also like to thank the local graffiti artists for providing me with an interesting backdrop, even though we’ve complained to the local council to get it cleaned up.

This will be my last post before I take a short skiing break in Austria. Immediately after this I’ll be off to Warsaw to meet my good friends at Whitesmoke, Dorota and Michal, and to attend a seminar by a very well known American wedding photographer, Anna Kuperberg. So lots to look forward to before I return to hit the ground running with one wedding the end of this month followed by 4 in April. Spring is in the air and the wedding season is upon us, bring it on !

Below are some more favourites from Jennifer and Nick’s session so please feel free to add comments (nice ones only please icon biggrin Berkshire engagement photography )

Reading Engagement Photographer007 Engagement photography in Reading, Berkshire

Here’s some favourite images from Katja and Tony’s pre wedding shoot.

I’ll be doing their wedding photography at Nonsuch Mansion this April and as with all of my couples I offer a complementary session before their big day. This is very popular and definitely makes a positive difference on the wedding day itself.

Anyway today we braved the freezing weather and took some shots just around the corner from my studio. I’m still amazed how Tony managed it wearing just a thin jacket but he was quite happy to go ahead despite my warm studio !

Sydney Opera House pre wedding photography

After day 2 of Teeks and Nick’s wedding celebrations it was a mad dash back to Sydney to meet up with Kate and Ben for a pre wedding shoot.

I’ve always wanted to do a session here since my first visit back in 2005. So this was an ideal opportunity despite the fact the main front entrance was cordoned off. This was in preparation for the forthcoming visit of someone called Oprah Winfrey. There were vans, lorries everywhere – general media scrum. Anyhow, undeterred,  I decided to go around the side alongside the Royal Botanical Gardens and then around the back. As you can see though we still got some great shots and fantastic backdrops.

As promised here’s some favourite shots from Teeks and Nick’s pre wedding shoot. I’ll be photographing their wedding this weekend in Bowral so we managed to squeeze in a quick shoot at one of their favourite spots in Sydney. We headed out to Nielsen Park early in the morning to catch the good light and later moved round to Milk Beach (I love this name) to get the Sydney skyline in the background. Pre wedding shoot in Reading Berkshire

027 Pre wedding shoot in Reading Berkshire

Here are some favourites from a recent pre wedding shoot. These are very popular and is something I offer all of my wedding couples as a way to get to know each better. It also gives them an idea of how I shoot and gives me an idea of how they are in front of the camera. So a win win situation all round.

I will be photographing Michala and Dave’s wedding at Silchester House next March and today they braved the sub zero temperatures and came over for their session. It was sooooo cold – I had difficulty finding the controls on my camera ! So we couldn’t hang around for long and ended up doing a few shots in my studio.

I always enjoy working outdoors especially at this time of year with the beautiful autumn colours.

Here are some favourite images of Katherine and David taken at a local beauty spot close to their home. I will also be doing their wedding photography at Wellington College in Crowthorne in a few weeks time. Lets hope the we have great opportunities like this on their big day, and dry weather of course !

033 London engagement portraits

After shooting Clare and Andrew’s wedding at Cambridge Cottage in Kew I arranged to drive across town to take some engagement shots of Clare (a different one) and her fiance Tim who are getting married later this year at St Mary’s Church in Battersea. These were taken close to where Clare and Tim live in Battersea along The Thames.

You can see Chelsea power station in some of the images which is not as well known as its famous counterpart at Battersea but still interesting to photograph. But it was really difficult working in such harsh light particularly as the sun was beginning to drop. Perhaps another 30 minutes later and it would’ve dropped close enough to the horizon, what we call in the industry ‘The Golden Hour’ – perfect quality of light.

Nevertheless I am really pleased with these results. You sometimes have to work harder in these situations and at times this type of light can be used to your advantage. Anyhow some favourites can be seen below and please feel free to add any comments.

Thanks again Clare and Tim for showing me around.

Windsor engagement photography, Anna and Kong

Windsor Wedding Phootgrapher 006 Windsor engagement photography, Anna and Kong

Here are some favourites from an engagement portrait session in Windsor, Berkshire. This was of Anna and Kong and I’ll be doing their wedding photography at The Olde Bell in Hurley later this month. These are always fun and relaxed to do especially at a favourite location. As Anna and Kong both live in Windsor and the fact I attended a trade show there on the same day, this was an ideal location.

In fact the plan on their wedding day is to go for a short stroll around Windsor straight after the ceremony at The Guild Hall. This will be great fun and I’m sure the tourists will be snapping away like mad. So in a way this engagement shoot was like a warm up, rehearsal minus the white dress and suits of course. Below are some more favourites so please feel free to add any comments.

Engagement portraits in Brick Lane

016 Engagement portraits in Brick Lane

I love shooting in London and when Gerry and Rich (whose wedding I’ll be photographing at Monkey Island in Bray) asked me to take some engagement shots in Brick Lane I jumped at the chance. London, and in particular Brick Lane, offers such a variety of colours, cultures, and architecture. Its a photographers dream with endless possibilities for great shots wherever you turn.

Gerry and Rich were brought up in this part of the world and it also where they first met. So these images have even more meaning for them. As you can see we had scorching weather which created some harsh, contrasty light but which can also give a more fashion type look as well. At the end I was really pleased to get some shots on the Underground as Gerry and Rich headed off to see Andy Murray at Wimbledon. Here are some favourites below. I’ve processed a few in with a retro look which, although I don’t do often, looks quite effective here. Feel free to add any comments below
