Last month, August in fact, I made my longest journey of the year so far to photograph Louise and Mark’s Tipi wedding in The Peak District. This is one of my favourite parts of England having spent many holidays there during my childhood. So when Louise and Mark told me their wedding reception was going to be in a Tipi on a remote hillside in The Peak District I was really excited. And I was not disappointed  as you can see from the images below – fantastic scenery and landscapes with loads of space and variable light. A photographers dream !

The day started as usual with some prep shots of Louise getting ready at the farm whilst the Tipi was being prepared in the adjoining field. And then a quick car drive into Ashbourne to capture Mark and the lads grabbing a quick beer before the ceremony in the Town Hall on the opposite side of the market place. After a short ceremony we all headed back to Lower Damgate Farm to start the celebrations. Fortunately the weather held so the guests were not just confined to the Tipi and could play croquet and boules (have I spelt that correctly ?) outside. I must also mention the superb local food which was cooked on site by a fantastic chef (sorry I forgot his name ) and his team. Food that you don’t usually experience in hotels and presented with a touch of flair.

It was also an opportunity to try out my new Fuji x100 camera which has been getting rave reviews. After practicing with it for an eternity I finally felt confident to use it here and I would say around one third of the shots were taken with it. Great fun to use, small and light weight it made a welcome change to the Nikons and their huge lenses. More about this camera later.

Anyhow below are some of my many favourites so please feel free to add any comments and to ‘Facebook Like’, Twitter, Google +, blah blah…….. The complete set is now ready so just click here to access the gallery. You will have to ask Louise and Mark for the password. Any questions please feel free to contact me

Enjoy

Many congratulations to Sarah and Alex who last month tied the knot in St George’s Church in the beautiful village of Cam. Then it was off to North Nibley for a marquee reception in Alex’s parents home. Both venues are just on the edge of the Cotswolds, my favourite part of Britain and which always provides me with plenty of fantastic photo opportunities as you can see below.

The complete set is now available to view by clicking on ‘Client Area’ above. You will then need a password which can be obtained from Sarah or Alex. In the meantime I have added some of my many favourites below. Please feel free to add any comments and to pass this on via Twitter, Facebook, Linked In etc…..
