Wedding Photography at The Bingham Hotel – Miriam and James

0747 Wedding Photography at The Bingham Hotel Miriam and James

London is by far my favourite city and I absolutely love photographing weddings there. The variety, cultural diversity and general hustle and bustle tend to bring out the best in me. So I was really delighted when Miriam and James booked me to do their wedding photography at The Bingham Hotel in Richmond Upon Thames. This is a really great venue, an independant hotel with lots of character and intimacy right on the banks of The Thames. I was there a few years ago for Lydie and Noah’s wedding so was looking forward to going back.

I started the day with some shots of James and the boys at The Ship pub right next to The Thames and then a short 5 minute drive to Miriam’s home in Chiswick for her prep shots. And then another short drive to St Nicholas Church for the ceremony. We had the most beautiful autumn weather the whole day as well as the usual seasonal colours. Later on in the day at The Bingham as the sun dropped we experienced the most amazing light and flare. Here I managed to get some really cool panoramic shots of the river as well as some great couple shots along the towpath.

The evening celebrations started with some great speeches with amazing food and wine before a sparkler parade on the lawn. So a fantastic day all round, one I’ll always remember. It was also great to meet up with my good friends Ayla and Ian again whose wedding I photographed at Kelmarsh Hall a few years ago.

Anyhow, enough chat for now. Congratulations and many thanks to Miriam and James for arranging such an unforgettable day. Here’s some favourite images below. The complete set can also be viewed by clicking here  You’ll need a password which is Miriam’s surname followed by James’ all lower case with no gaps. Any questions please feel free to contact me

Now that I’ve cleared my backlog I’ll be blogging more frequently now. Next up – Camille and Michael’s wedding at The Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot.

Enjoy.

Wedding Photography at The Drapers Arms in Islington – Jenni and Chris

357 Wedding Photography at The Drapers Arms in Islington Jenni and Chris

I always love photographing weddings in London – the buzz, the excitement, the variety which keeps the adrenaline flowing. And Jenni and Chris’ wedding was no exception !

I started off with Jenni’s prep shots at The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch and then jumped on a double decker bus with some of the guests to the church in Stoke Newington. This was a lovely church with great light and a very accomodating vicar who was also a family friend of Jenni’s. Then a surprise for Jenni and Chris as they exited the church in the form of a dove release. I was really pleased to nail this shot pretty successfully which is sometimes hit and miss. Then back on the double decker to the reception at The Drapers Arms in Islington – a really lovely and intimate pub serving great food.

Below are some favourites from the day and as usual the complete set can be viewed by clicking here. Don’t forget the password which is Jenni’s surname followed by Chris’ all lower case with no gaps. Please feel free to add any comments, enjoy !

Many congratulations to Kirsty and John who recently tied the knot at Islington Town Hall. This was then followed by another town hall, this time Finsbury, for the reception. These are both grand locations with plenty of opportunities for great images. Finsbury Town Hall in particular, I’ll remember for the fantastic array of colours as you can see below. I always love London weddings and this was no exception with real fun and informality and a really relaxed couple in Kirsty and John.

As usual here are some favourites below and the complete gallery is also ready here .  Please contact Kirsty or John for the password.

418 Wedding Photography at Bluebird restaurant, Kings Road, Chelsea

Many congratulations to Clare and Tim who tied the knot at St Mary’s Church in Battersea followed by a reception at Bluebird Restaurant in Kings Road Chelsea

I always enjoy London weddings more than any others. Rushing around in taxis and the tube as well as the variety of locations. Just the general buzz and excitement I suppose. Clare and Tim’s wedding fitted this perfectly. I started the day with Clare at the hairdressers, Paul Edmonds in The Brompton Road followed by some very quick shots in The Egerton Hotel close by. Then a quick taxi ride to meet Tim and the groomsmen at Ransome’s Dock before a brisk walk to the Church.

Finally another taxi ride to the reception at Bluebird Restaurant which is a very impressive place with great photographic opportunities. Music was supplied by a really cool Jazz Band, Benoit Viellefon et Son Orchestra alongside the colourful trumpeter Eddie ‘Tan Tan’ Thornton. These guys are truly amazing and must be heard live !

Clare and Tim found me through our mutual passion for Leica cameras and documentary photography. Similarly they chose Roland from S8 films to film on Super 8 to give that vintage movie look you see from the 60′s and 70′s. I loved the whirring sound of his camera and I can’t wait to see the results ! Finally it was great to have my friend and colleague tag along, Marcin Bittner from Tarnow in Poland. Marcin was shooting for a client in London at the time so asked me if he could join me to experience an English wedding. So I hope you found it useful Marcin and thanks to Clare and Tim for giving him the opportunity.

Below are some favourites from the day. The complete set is also available to view here . Please contact Clare or Tim for the log in details.

Wedding Photography at Syon Park

961 Wedding Photography at Syon Park

Many congratulations to Suzie and Lars who tied the knot at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, London which was followed by a fantastic reception at Syon Park in Brentford.

I started the day photographing the preparations at The Berkeley Hotel which fortunately is right next door to the Church and then from here it was the short trip by double decker bus to Syon Park. I photographed a wedding here last year so couldn’t wait to get back.

This wedding had a real classic, elegant, feel with the locations, settings and dress. So it was important I kept to this theme and this is where I feel I am at my best. Not only that but it had a real international flavour with guests from Israel, Ireland, Denmark and of course Essex ! From my point of view it was good to chat with the Danes and I know they always enjoy a good party. I even warned Lars about their tradition of cutting the socks and I trust he was wearing Primark ones at the time !

This was a fantastic wedding, one which I’ll never forget and I should also mention the great team I had working with me – Leo Ferenc the marauding Magyar ! Leo is one videographer I love working with. He does his own thing and does’nt get in anyones way. Highly recommended ! And then of course Nigel Neve the toastmaster. Where would we be without Nige ! If you want you wedding to run without a hitch, stress free then Nige is yer man ! Finally the wedding planner Jemma Childerhouse (where’s your website Jemma ?) who was in the background keeping a close eye on things. And thanks again to the great staff at Syon Park.

The complete set can be seen here You’ll need a password which you can get from Suzie. Also below are some favourites from the day. Please feel free to add comments.

Once again Suzie and Lars, thanks again for a great day, one I’ll never forget .

645 Wedding photography St Marys Hampton Georgia and Steffan

Many congratulations to Georgia and Steffan who tied the knot at St Mary’s in Hampton followed by a marquee reception just up the river in Thames Ditton. This was reached by a short boat trip which was ideal and an excellent way to enjoy the beautiful weather. This is how weddings should be – relaxed, fun and outdoors so guests and kids can really let their hair down and chill out. A day that Magda and I thoroughly enjoyed and will remember for many years to come. Below are some favourites and of course the complete set is also ready to view online.
