Kelmarsh Hall, Northants
Wedding Photography at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire by Neil Palmer, one of the UK’s most experienced wedding photographers.
One venue I always enjoy going back to is Kelmarsh Hall situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside.
Kelmarsh Hall is an 18th century historic house and is surrounded by its own working estate. It is a wonderful venue for a country wedding as it combines a practical ease that ensures your wedding plans are worry-free, with a romance and grace that will colour every aspect of your wedding day. Despite its size Kelmarsh has a very friendly and intimate atmosphere. It is also a very tranquil setting and as it has a policy of exclusive use it means that you wedding will be a very private affair allowing you to enjoy the setting and freedom as if it were your own.
Kelmarsh is also licensed for civil ceremonies and is flexible in its packages from simple ceremony followed by drinks and canapes to seated dinners for up to 130 guests. An example of this can be seen from Ayla and Ian’s wedding I photographed here in september 2008. This can also be viewed on my latest blog by clicking here
Larger wedding parties can be accommodated in a luxury marquee either on the front lawn or behind the house which boasts fantastic views of the lake and the rolling countryside. This can be seen from Serena and Ivan’s hindu, serbian wedding. Also on my new blog as well
The gardens must also be mentioned as they provide fantastic opportunities for your wedding photography. Here you will find formal terraces and pretty intimate flower gardens. There are also several woodland walks which will take you right down to the lake. In the summer months it is an ideal way for guests to relax and unwind long into the evening. Occasionally you’ll see hot air balloons floating across the tranquil and serene setting.
All of the rooms are light and airy, ideal for natural light photography. I will often take my couples out to the front of the main house for some shots and then as the sun sets I take them around the back. I can then shoot into the light to get some absolutely stunning effects with flare and silhouettes as you can see from the images here.
You cannot get a better venue than Kelmarsh for its privacy and its magnificent setting will provide fantastic memories in years to come.
