Old Luxters Barn has been offering weddings and private functions since 1999 and is now one of the most popular venues of the Chiltern Hills Register Office for Civil Ceremonies.
Civil Ceremonies generally take place in the barn which has a seating capacity of 100 and can take place on any day of the year apart from public holidays.
As well as Civil Ceremonies Old Luxters Barn also offers Humanist Ceremonies which can take place in any part of the estate. Canapes and reception drinks can take place in the courtyard immediately after the ceremony. For the wedding breakfast a maximum of 100 guests can be accommodated in the barn. If you have a smaller wedding however this can be personalised for a more intimate setting.
After your wedding breakfast Old Luxters can offer its in house disco and even has its own band. For the more traditional and older generation a barn dance can also be arranged. The barn is a perfect setting fro this. As the evening progresses a buffet or spit roast can be arranged and this can go on to the early hours as they are fully licensed to 2 am
A marquee to the side of the barn is also available for the larger weddings.
Here are some favourite images from Louise and Mark’s wedding photography at Old Luxters Barn. I photographed their wedding at St Mary’s Church in Harpsden in August 2011. A lovely traditional English ceremony which was followed by a fantastic reception at Old Luxters Barn. Despite the grey weather (in august !) we manged to take some great portraits in the adjoining woodlands (third image above). This was followed by the wedding breakfast with some truly memorable speeches. And then it was time to party ! Some serious dancing with a bit of break dancing thrown in for good measure. A truly memorable day, interesting guests and great venues !
