The Olde Bell in Hurley in Berkshire is a wedding venue with a difference. If you want modern then this isn’t for you as the Olde Bell dates back to 1135 and is just packed with rustic charm, it just exudes character that modern wedding venues simply don’t have. This is a traditional wedding venue and it is really just stunning, but the food is even better. There are three big reasons to get married here. The venue is just fantastic, especially for wedding photography. The history, aesthetics and backdrops are completely unique, you couldn’t make them on a film set. The food is just fantastic, probably the best pub food that we’ve ever tasted, it really is that good!
It doesn’t matter what time of year that you have your wedding here, the venue is so full of character that you will always be ensured of a unique event. There are two main venues within the complex being the Tithe Barn and the Malt House. The Olde Bell is more than just a pub, it is a community and this feeds through to your wedding day. The venue has never lost its roots being a place for socialising and celebrating for locals and visitors alike and no one leaves without sampling the local ales and the out standing cuisine. The Tithe Barn is a 16th Century traditional oak beamed barn that can seat up to 120 guests. This is an ideal location for local weddings and you can have a fantastic event in a building with great character. The Malt House is a smaller and more intimate Victorian venue that can accommodate up to 40 guests and is a fantastic location for smaller, traditional English weddings.
So what makes wedding photography at the Olde Bell so special. The atmosphere here is definitely different from other wedding venues. Because the buildings are all unique and so full of character and because this is essentially a pub, weddings tend to be more relaxed. The Olde Bell isn’t really a pub though, it is a coaching inn, more of a location for travelers to rest and recuperate and is definitely a class above the traditional pub. The food and drink though really make this a special venue. Most venues promise the world and deliver a bit but the Olde Bell delivers the full package. The food is as good as you will ever get from a traditional venue and the local ales and other drinks are chosen with care. All of this combined makes weddings here a more relaxed and friendly affair and that makes the job of a wedding photographer at the Olde Bell a much more enjoyable job!
